OUR SUPERFOODS

ACAI

Native to the Amazon region, amazing acai berries are jam-packed with antioxidants - actually more than any other food on the planet, including red wine, blueberries and dark chocolate. Its superhero compound is anthocyanin, which is renowned for its protective, anti-ageing benefits. Naturally low in sugars and calories, acai is rich in healthy fats, fibre, cholesterol-fighting phytosterols and amino acids.

BLUEBERRIES

Blueberries are the ultimate anti-ageing super food. They're loaded with polyphenol antioxidants called flavonoids, which boost the skin's elasticity. They also protect against UV damage. These same antioxidants also seem to benefit your brain by protecting the neurons and delaying mental decline.

GINGER

In ancient Ayurvedic medicine, ginger is known as the “universal remedy.” It is used for its anti-microbial and anti-viral properties but it also stimulates the digestive and immune system. It has a high content of antioxidant, chromium, magnesium and zinc, which improve blood circulation and absorption of essential nutrients by the body.

WALNUTS

Brain-shaped walnuts turn out to be one of the best brain food. They contain more omega-3 ALA than any other nut. This essential fatty acid lowers blood pressure and cholesterol, reduces inflammation and prevents cardiovascular diseases. Walnuts are also a great source of antioxidants and contain numerous compounds (melatonin, serotonin, magnesium) that can help you to relax and sleep better.

SPINACH

A half-cup of spinach provides more than five times your daily dose of vitamin K, which helps blood clot and builds strong bones. Spinach is an extremely nutrient-rich vegetable packing high amounts of antioxidant carotenoids, vitamin C, folic acid, iron, and calcium.

Strong taste

I can’t say this was my favourite..it was certainly filling but I’m not sure if it was the spinach or açai that gave it such a strong taste but it really overpowered the rest of the ingredients.
I found myself adding more liquid than advised and some peanut butter to offset the taste, once I’d done that it was certainly yummy. I think I’m more of sweet smoothie person!
