GENERAL
Blend my day is the first healthy breakfast delivery service in the UK. Our delicious, balanced breakfast smoothies and oat bowls are ideal for our modern, fast-paced lives. Our mission is to help as many of you enjoy the benefits of a wholefood, nutrient-dense diet on a daily basis without any guilt or sacrifices.
Our recipes are developed by our founder Alex (more on him here) and our amazing nutritionist Eve. We also work with top Instagram recipe developers such as @oatmeal_stories and @healthy_belly to make sure you get your hands on the most Instagram-worthy treats!
Each cup contains ready-prepared frozen ingredients to blend one large smoothie (about 400-450 ml). That's big enough for 1 or 2 servings, depending on how hungry you are. Each blend contains only the very best foods: fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds, grains and superfoods. All natural, minimally-processed (no additives or preservatives), vegan and gluten-free.
In every oat bowl, you'll find:
✚ a porridge base with a blend of four whole grains (gluten-free oats, buckwheat, millet, amaranth), seeds (chia, flax, hemp...), date paste, superfoods (acai, pitaya, camu camu, cocoa...) and a pinch of pink himalayan salt.
✚ two creamy layers (nut butters, homemade chia jam, coconut cream)
✚ real whole fruits (berries, bananas...) - no dried or dehydrated ones.
✚ crunchy toppings, in a small separate pot (nuts, seeds, dried fruits, coconut, chocolate chips...).
For many reasons! Frozen fruit and veg create a perfect creamy texture and ideal temperature. Our fruit and veg are also frozen within hours of harvesting using the IQF technique ("Individual Quick Frozen" or "Flash Frozen") which ensures maximum nutrient conservation (vitamins, minerals, antioxidants). Freezing also enables us to waste far less than using fresh produce both on our side and on your side thanks to a long shelf life.
Yes! You won't find any animal products in any of our recipes - not even honey ;)
Yes! In particular we only use certified gluten-free oats and oat bran.
Yes! All of our recipes are dairy and lactose-free.
Since a number of our smoothies and breakfast bowls contain nuts, we recommend that you carefully check the list of ingredients and allergens on the back of the cup and on our website. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee any of our products will be completely free from traces of key allergens. We don't have separate areas in our kitchen, so there is always a small risk of cross-contamination. Our kitchen handles tree nuts, peanuts, gluten, soy and other allergens. If you are severely allergic to any of these, we would advise you not to consume any of our products.

DELIVERY
We deliver almost everywhere in Great Britain / Mainland UK with DPD Next Day service. There are few remote or hard-to-reach areas that are not delivered including: Aberdeen, Argyll, Arran, Dundee, Eire (Republic of Ireland), Guernsey, Isle of Man, Northern Highlands, Northern Ireland, Orkney Shetland and Jersey. Before ordering you'll be able to check your postcode and make sure we can deliver your area.
We deliver through DPD Next Day service. We use wool or denim insulation liners and appropriate amounts of dry ice* to ensure your food will stay frozen for up to 30 hours, the maximum time it should take to receive your box from the time it's dispatched. If your Dry ice pouches are almost of completely empty, don't worry it's normal and does not mean your food has defrosted. Dry ice slowly evaporates to create cold inside your box and and keep your food frozen.
* Dry ice is solid carbon dioxide (CO₂). It has the unusual property of 'subliming', that is going from a solid to a gas without passing through a liquid phase and this is how it gets the name dry ice. The product can only exist at -79C and it maintains this temperature by sublimation. In the UK the CO₂ in dry ice is from a recycled source and so is not making a contribution to global warming.
Your cups are delivered frozen and should be stored in your freezer until you want to prepare them. Even if you have any doubts that they might have slightly defrosted, you should store them in your freezer.
We currently deliver 2 days per week on Tuesdays and Fridays. Your delivery can arrive anytime between 8am-6pm. Our delivery partner DPD will text and/or email you with a 1hr delivery window on the morning of your delivery, so you’ll know exactly when your parcel is arriving. Make sure you unpack your box as soon as possible on your delivery day to store your cups in your freezer. We're planning to open more delivery days as we go and add weekend deliveries, so stay tuned!
Don't worry, we all have a busy life and we want to make it as simple for you as possible. Our boxes are kept fresh and frozen until 10pm on the day of your delivery, thanks to our fully-recyclable insulated packaging and the use of dry ice.
When you place your order: you'll be asked to enter your safe place delivery instructions to let us know where we can leave your box in case you're not in (i.e., behind the gate, with a neighbour etc.). Without instructions, your box will be left by your front door.
On the morning of delivery: DPD will text you with a 1hr delivery window, so you’ll know exactly when your parcel will arrive. If you need to update delivery instructions (safe place) on the day, just go on DPD’s tracking portal (link in the text message and order confirmation email).
Please note that you will not have the option to rearrange delivery on another day. Our boxes will only keep your food frozen up until 10pm on the delivery day.
For one-off orders, we charge a variable fee depending on your box size:
- £6.95 for a box of 6
- £4.95 for a box of 9
- £3.95 for a box of 12
For subscription orders, your delivery is FREE subscription whatever the size of your box.
Yes, as long as you get and unpack your box on the designated delivery day before 10pm, your food should be frozen. Make sure you pop it straight in your freezer upon delivery. We use eco-friendly wool or denim insulation liners and appropriate amounts of dry ice to keep your food frozen for up to 30 hours.
If your Dry ice pouches are almost or completely empty, don't worry it's normal and does not mean your food has defrosted.
If you have any doubt that your food might have partially defrosted, please do the following:
1. Note the time you picked up your box and where it was left (safe place) if applicable.
2. Take pictures of the outside of the box if damaged and the outside. Take note of how many pouches of dry ice you had and how empty they were (again it's normal that there is little or none left)
3. Take not if the cups still feel cold when handling. Please note that if they are wet or 'squishy', it's not necessarily a bad sign.
4. Open a couple of cups (ideally 1 smoothie and 1 oat bowl) and check how it looks. Take pictures if you can.
5. Store all your cups in your freezer asap as it's the best course of action
All this will help us better assess the situation and better help you.
Then contact us at hello@blendmyday.co.uk with all the information and pictures.
What should I know about refreezing frozen food?
We're trying to fight food waste and reduce the impact of our deliveries on the environment and are doing our best to educate our customers. That's why we want to give you useful guidelines about refreezing frozen fruits and vegs as there are a lot of common misconceptions. This will hopefully help you make the best decision about what you want to do with your food.
There are 2 main things to consider: safety and quality
1. Let's start with the safety side.
Despite all the warnings and other myths you may have heard over the years, it is perfectly safe to refreeze partially or even completely thawed fruits / vegs as long as they still look and smell good. The process of refreezing is not inherently dangerous. The danger comes from the risk of contamination and degradation that happens after the food is completely thawed.
With our deliveries, it's extremely unlikely that your food has had any time to spoil and grow harmful bacteria for a number of reasons:
- We use dry ice so we know the food would defrost very slowly and safely and still be cold upon delivery (like if you had defrosted in the fridge)
- Our products don't contain any dairy or animal products so they are much less likely to bear harmful bacteria in the first place.
- Our cups are sealed so it's not possible that they could be contaminated during transit.
If you still have any doubts or concerns, you should visually inspect and smell the ingredients inside each cup. Obviously if you spot a funny smell or mould, then you should not consume and dispose of (same as you would do with fresh fruits and vegs).
2. The other concern you might have is quality.
As you probably already know from experience, when you thaw frozen fruits they won’t be nearly as crunchy and textured as when they're fresh. If you refreeze them, the strength and elasticity are going to be further compromised.
However, because they will end up being either blended (smoothies) or soaked and pureed (oat bowls), this should no have any noticeable impact on the texture or the taste once prepared. Again, when consuming, if you spot any funny smell, mould or foul taste, you should not consume and dispose of (as you would do with any food).
If you have any further questions, please contact us at hello@blendmyday.co.uk.

When you unpack your box:
1. Take out the dry ice pouches. Even if there should be little solid dry ice left it will still be very cold. As long as you don't touch the dry ice directly, it's perfectly safe.
2. Once your cups are safely stored in your freezer, return the dry ice pouches into the delivery box.
3. Leave the box in a well-ventilated area (out of the reach of children!) for few hours hours or until all the dry ice has fully evaporated. The dry ice pouches should be accepted for plastic recycling but please check with your local council first.
You can recycle the outer box and either reuse or recycle the insulation liner. We're still working on a solution to allow you to return and reuse the insulation liners and boxes for free.
For the cardboard delivery box: as you guessed it's 100% recyclable so just pop in with your paper/card along with the tape too ♻️
For the denim/wool insulation liners: you can either keep and reuse our eco-friendly denim insulation liners (up to 10 times) or just recycle them:
- pop the demin itself into the recycling bin (it has already been recycled).
- recycle the liner sleeve alongside plastic bags at your local supermarket.
For the dry ice pouches: wait up to 12 hours before handling so all the dry ice has fully evaporated. The dry ice pouches should be accepted for plastic recycling but please check with your local council first.
For the cups and lids: at the moment the paper cups are not recyclable due to the poly coating requiiree for humidity and freeze proofing. They are or can be recyclable only if you have a recycling that strips the poly coating from the paper board. But once cleaned, they can also be reused for any cold drinks or storage ;)

The team will do their best to assist you if they can, but unfortunately, this isn't always possible.
We send out hundreds of boxes each day, so once the deadline has passed, and the order is underway, it is very challenging for our operations team to identify one individual box to make last-minute changes.

In that case, we'll do our best to reach out to you and ask about your instructions. Without instructions, we'll make a swap with another recipes already in your box or send you box short of the missing products and refund you for these.
Future delivery will be made by default on the same day of the week of your initial subscription order (currently Weds or Friday).
Deliveries are made between 8am-7pm by DPD. You will receive an eta on the day of delivery, usually by 1pm.
You don't need to be in to receive the box - in fact, most of our customers aren't. Your box will be left in your designated safe place and you food will stay frozen until 10pm so don't forget to pick it up.
We would highly recommend downloading the DPD app, here. It will allow you to track your order once on its way, as well as receive further notifications closer to the time of delivery.
SMOOTHIES / PROTEIN SHAKES
It couldn't be easier!
1. Take your cup straight out of the freezer (no thawing required). Open the lid and remove the seal.
2. Pour 230-250ml of your preferred liquid base (water works fine) in a high-speed blender and toss in all ingredients.
3. Blend for 1 to 2 minutes on high until you get the desired texture.
4. Pour your smoothie back into our paper cups, pop on the lid and use a compostable or reusable straw to enjoy (and even take it to go).
You can just use plain water but we strongly recommend using plant drinks (or regular milk if not vegan). Our go-to options are unsweetened almond or coconut mylks as they are easy to find, inexpensive and add some taste with very little extra calories. You'll find our pairing recommendation for each recipe on the back of your cup and on the product page.
We don't recommend using apple or orange juices which would mainly add sugar.
- For some extra protein: go for soy or cashew milk (8-10g protein / cup)
- For extra fibre: go for oat milk (3g fibre / cup)
- Note that both Cashew and Rice mylks are the sweetest ones (5-8g sugar per cup).
Besides some space in your freezer, you need a blender with a jar capacity of at least 500ml. As our smoothie kits have frozen fruits and vegs, we recommend using a high-speed blender with at least 800W power. Check out Nutribullet, Ninja or Magimix for affordable options and Vitamix, Blendtec or Kitchenaid for a splurge. You can definitely use a handheld blender but you probably won't get the best results. Check out our blog post "How to choose the right blender for smoothies" if you want to know more.
Once blended, our smoothies are best consumed in the next 15-30mn as they will have the best texture, the right temperature and maximum nutritional value. If you need to keep it for later, store it in the fridge in a sealed container for 6 hrs max. The oxidation process might alter the colour and texture but it's totally safe. You can give it a quick blend again! Do not freeze it again.
We have carefully pre-proportioned each cup / pouch to meet your needs:
- our smoothies (150-250 kcal) are great as a snack, dessert or pre-workout
- our protein shakes (290-350 kcal) are great as a post-workout, breakfast or low-calorie meal
- our breakfast smoothies (350-450 kcal) are great as a large breakfast or meal
But this all depends on your individual needs, goals and appetite, so it can also make two servings per cup. Share it or keep it in the fridge for a few hours.
You don't need to defrost our smoothie /shake kits before blending. Using frozen fruits and vegs actually creates a super creamy smoothie and does not require adding any ice. However, if you don't have a powerful blender it might be a good idea to let your smoothie cup sit on the counter for 15-20mn to facilitate blending though.
You can keep your smoothie cups / pouches in the freezer at -18°C for up to 12 months, depending on the storage conditions (frequency of opening the freezer, outside temperature, etc.). Remember not to freeze our smoothie again once prepared.
PORRIDGE BOWLS
There are 2 ways but you'll get the best (and healthiest) results with the overnight preparation :
"Overnight" preparation (highly recommended *)
1. The night before, take the porridge cup out of the freezer, open it and remove the topping pot (you can just keep it on the counter).
2. Add about 175ml of plant drink or water (up to the fill line) and stir well (20-30 sec).
3. Put back the lid and leave it to soak overnight in the fridge (or at least 6 hrs).
4. In the morning, give it a good stir again, add more liquid if needed and sprinkle the toppings. You're set!
"Instant" preparation (in the morning)
1. Take the porridge cup out of the freezer, open it and remove the topping pot.
2. Pour about 175ml of boiling water or plant drink* (up to the filling line) and stir well (20-30 sec).
3. Put the lid back on and let it rest for 2-3 minutes.
4. Stir again, sprinkle the toppings and enjoy your delicious bowl!
(* alternatively you can add 120ml of cold liquid and heat on high for 30-60s in the microwave).
Please note that each cup makes 2 portions.
Once prepared:
- If you have someone to share it with then just divide in 2 equal (or not) portions
- If you can’t (or don’t want to) share, just eat half and put the rest back in the fridge (sealed). You can then get the other half on the next morning or even the morning after. Our top tip: only use half of the toppings on the first day so they’re still crunchy on the next one.
* Our porridge bowls have been specifically designed to be soaked overnight and we strongly recommend that preparation mode for taste and health benefits.
No you don't need to. When soaking your oat bowl overnight in the fridge it will thoroughly thaw. When preparing in the morning, you can let it sit at room temperature for 15 to 20mn before adding liquid as it will yield a slightly better result. But this is totally optional.
Unlike traditional cooked porridge, overnight oats are cold-soaked and never heated so you keep all the vitamins and minerals as well as their naturally low Glycaemic Index.
Soaking grains also "activates" them, which helps your body utilise their nutrients much more efficiently, as well as making them easier to digest.
The best part? You get a pudding-like texture and decadent flavour that will stay fresh for up to 2 days in your fridge. Our porridge bowls have been specifically designed to be soaked overnight and we bet you'll love it this way.
You only need to add your preferred liquid. You can either add cold liquid (plant milk, water...) or boiling water. All of our recipes can work with water but we recommend plant milks such as unsweetened almond or coconut milk.
There is nothing else to add as the creamy layers, fruits and toppings are already included.
Once prepared each of our XL Oat Bowl will serve 2 full breakfasts.
Each serving (½ cup) packs 325Kcal on average (excluding milk) with 9-13 g plant protein and 8-12g dietary fibre.
We recommend to prepare the whole pot at once and soak it overnight or heat it up in the morning.
Once prepared:
- If you have someone to share it with then just split in 2 equal (or not) portions
- If you can’t (or don’t want to) share, just eat half and put the rest back in the fridge. You can then get the other half on the next morning or even the morning after. Our top tip: only use half of the toppings on the first day so they’re still crunchy on the next one.
This is normal as each cup makes 2 full breakfasts (325 kcal each). Once prepared, you can keep your breakfast bowl up to 2 days in the fridge. However, remember you should not freeze them again.
For example, you can eat half of it on the first morning and the other half on the following day or even the day after. You can also divide in 2 portions and share it with someone.
You just need a freezer to store your delicious breakfasts bowls and a fridge to soak them overnight.
This XL range has replaced the previous "single-serve"
The cup size is the same and the recipes are very close but we just pack much more in each cup so that it now serves 2 full breakfasts (325 kcal each on average). Once prepared, you can either share it or keep half for the next morning (keeps up to 2 days in the fridge).
Here are some of the benefits of our new XL format:
- you pack more servings in your freezer (6 cups = 12 breakfasts)
- you get better value for money (£3.5 / serving vs £5 before)
- you prep once, you get 2 breakfasts ready

NUTRITION
When properly balanced, we believe smoothies are a much healthier option than fruit juices.
Why? Firstly because juicing fruits or vegs removes most of their precious fibre, while blending retains all the fibre.
Secondly, fruit juices are basically liquid sugar (as much as in a can of soda) and will likely create unwanted sugar spikes in your bloodstream. All of our smoothies are balanced by nutritionists to contain a good amount of dietary fibre, quality plant protein and healthy fats which all lower the glycaemic index as they slow down the absorption of sugars into the bloodstream.
To find out more, you can check our Nutrition Corner.
Most of the ingredients we use are organic (superfoods, grains, nuts and seeds) and our goal is to increase the % as much as possible. We use close to 100 different ingredients across all our recipes so you can imagine it's not always easy (or cheap) to source them organic. We want our products to remain accessible for everyone and going 100% organic would cost us (and you) at least 30-40% more. While organic is in most cases better for the planet, it's not always better for your health and you sometimes just end up paying significantly more for little added benefits. For example check out the CLEAN 15 and DIRTY DOZEN list. Bottom line, we will go organic when it really matters and makes a difference.
You bet they are! This is what we're all about and we promise they can't get any healthier:
- 100% natural and whole food ingredients which are minimally processed
- Only nutrient-dense foods and superfoods to provide targeted health benefits (energy, immunity, digestion, detox,...)
- Recipes perfectly balanced by nutritionists (fibre, protein, healthy fats, low GIs)
- No added refined sugars and no nasties.
All our products pack a powerful nutritional punch and provide you with a perfect breakfast, meal or snack.
Unlike bottled smoothies or those sold in most bars or coffee shops, our smoothies are 100% natural and have no added sugars, additives or preservatives. A lot of smoothies are mainly made with fruits so they are nothing more than liquid sugar.
Our smoothies contain much more than just fruits: veg, grains, nuts & seeds, herbs, spices... That's why they're more balanced (protein + fibre + healthy fats), have a lower Glycaemic Index and are more filling.
Check out our "Nutrition Corner" for more info.
Unlike protein powders or ready-to-drink shakes, ours are:
- Made of natural whole food ingredients (fruits, vegs, nuts and seeds) and not just protein powder
- Super smooth with no chalky / powdery texture and after-taste
- Extra creamy thanks for frozen banana / cauliflower and nut butters
- Naturally sweetened with fruits and medjool dates - no artificial sweeteners
- Packed with superfoods (maca, lucuma, cacao...) for added health benefits (antioxidant, energy, beautifying...)
Check out our Protein Shake Range page for more info.
While we obviously need to keep an eye on the calories we consume, it is just as important - if not more so - to look at their nutritional density. Indeed, not all calories are created equally and you have to take into account the macro (protein, fibre, healthy fats...) and micro-nutrients (vitamins and minerals) provided by each calorie.
We have 3 different smoothie / shake ranges:
- Our "regular" smoothies contain 150 to 250 kcal with a minimum of 5g fibre and 5g protein
- Our 'protein shakes" contain 290 to 350 kcal with 20g protein and 7-13g fibre
- Our "breakfast" smoothies contain 350 to 450 kcal with a minimum of 12g protein and 8g fibre.
Each of our breakfast bowls contains between 400 and 465 kcal (toppings included) and can make 2 decent servings.
Therefore, each portion contains around 220 kcal with a minimum of 6g fibre and 6g protein.
You don't need to. When soaking your oat bowl overnight in the fridge it will thoroughly thaw. When preparing in the morning, you can let it sit at room temperature for 15 to 20mn before adding liquid as it will yield a slightly better result. But this is totally optional.
You can find all the detailed nutritional information on the product pages on our website as well as on the back of each cup. On top of the usual nutrition values (calories, protein, carbs, fibre, fats, etc.), you will find the amount of all vitamins and minerals (as well as the % of the recommended daily intake).
You can also find recap tables for each range.
At blend my day, we want to make your life easier which is why we design our product for specific occasions or needs.
We currently have 2 smoothie ranges.
Our "regular" smoothies make the perfect nutritious snacks or dessert. They contain 150 to 250 kcal and a minimum of 5g of fibre and 5g of protein.
Our "breakfast" smoothies are complete breakfasts that will give you energy for the whole day and keep you full until lunchtime so you won't reach for that bar. They contain 350 to 450 kcal and a minimum of 12g of fibre and 8g of protein.
They perfectly complement each other.
- Breakfast bowls are solid food so they tend to be more hearty and filling while smoothies are refreshing and easier to digest.
- Breakfast bowls are either cold (perfect for spring/summer) or hot (perfect for fall/winter) while smoothies are always best consumed ice-cold.
- Breakfast bowls make 2 portions and can be stored for 2 to 3 days after preparation while our smoothies should be consumed at once within hours of blending.
- Breakfast bowls don't require any equipment while smoothies require a blender
Just to be clear, our products have not been designed as "weight loss products" (low cal or high-protein). However, our smoothies and breakfast bowls can be smartly integrated into your weight-loss plan, either as a breakfast of course or a balanced light meal (lunch or dinner). They are great options because they are perfectly balanced by nutritionists (protein / fibre / healthy fats / complex carbs), loaded with vitamins / minerals and portion-controlled.
Please note that we don't provide any personalised advice on weight loss nor guaranty any weight loss as we dont sell plans / programmes. In particular, we would not recommend relying solely on our products for all your meals. For more tips, please read the detailed blog post written bu our in-house nutritionist:
HOW CAN BLEND MY DAY HELP YOU LOOSE WEIGHT ?
Occasionally yes, but we do not recommend replacing most of your meals with smoothies or juices without being monitored by a nutritionist or a doctor. Even if our smoothies are perfectly balanced from a nutritional perspective, you must adapt your calorie intake to your personal needs.
This being said, you can safely consume up to 2 smoothies per day (for example a breakfast and a snack) but we believe one smoothie a day is ideal to balance liquid and solid calorie intakes.
Yes all our products are suitable for people with diabetes. Our smoothies and oat bowls have been expertly balanced by nutritionists to be low GI and therefore not trigger any significant blood glucose spike. We achieve that by including plenty of plant protein, dietary fiber and healthy fats which all contribute to lower the Glycaemic Index. We also don't add any sugar, only naturally occurring one from fruits.
Since all of our smoothies and breakfast bowls are made with 100% natural ingredients, they are a great choice for pregnant women. However, if you are not immune to toxoplasmosis, we advise you not to consume them. Indeed, some of the vegs in our smoothies are raw and freezing does not totally guarantee the destruction of the parasite. The risk, even if very low, is not zero. Furthermore, we recommend that you avoid certain recipes with caffeine or guarana such as FRESH BLOOD, ELECTROCHOC or BOHEMIAN RASPBERRY.
